 Located on the Petitcodiac River, the City of Dieppe has seen its population quadruple in less than 30 years to its current population of 18,565. The bilingual community’s French (80%) and English-speaking (20%) residents live together in harmony. Citizens have access to more than 30 parks and green spaces in the city, one of which is a linear park with a 20 kilometers combined walking/biking trail. The main economic sectors in the City of Dieppe are health, education, business services, and wholesale and retail trade. Over the last ten years, building activity in Dieppe has increased at a steady rate, reaching a high of 675 construction permits in 2006.
